Product Recall
NEOTEC3 Product Recall Notice (UK & Ireland only!)
To NEOTEC3 Users in the United Kingdom and Ireland
It has come to our attention that some NEOTEC3 helmets sold in the United Kingdom and Ireland after 1st April, 2024, were mistakenly affixed with an Auto Cycle Union Ltd. (ACU) certification label, despite the fact that this model has not been certified by the ACU.
While there are no issues with the performance or quality of the NEOTEC3 helmet itself, it is important to note that the NEOTEC3 is not designed for competitive racing use and has not been certified by the ACU for such purposes.
Therefore, it would be appreciated if customers contact our distributor, Feridax (1957) Ltd. via customerservice@feridax.com where owners of NEOTEC3 helmets with affixed ACU certification labels can be directed to a retailer, where the label removal process will take place.
If you know of anyone else using one of the affected NEOTEC3, we would greatly appreciate it if you could inform them of this issue.
We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and concern this may cause.
We are committed to ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued trust in SHOEI products.
Sincerely,
SHOEI Co., Ltd.
FAQ:
Q: How do I know if my helmet is affected by this recall?
A: If your NEOTEC3 helmet has an ACU label affixed to the rear, this helmet is affected. If your NEOTEC3 helmet does not have an ACU label affixed to the rear, your helmet is not affected.
Q: What do I do if my helmet is affected?
A: Contact customerservice@feridax.com where you will be directed to an authorised dealer to have the ACU label removal process carried out.
Q: Is my helmet still safe to use?
A: Yes. NEOTEC3 helmets have not been tested for competitive racing and as such should not be used for track events or racing purposes.
Q: Can I remove the ACU sticker myself?
A: It is not recommended ACU labels are to be removed by yourself because there is a risk cosmetic damage to the shell may occur. ACU labels are not designed to be removed once affixed to helmets. Authorised SHOEI Technicians are trained to be able to remove ACU labels with correct tools.
